How does my garden grow

I have a new found fondness, for frog jars. I have a larger version of the one in this picture. It will now be a permanent fixture on my kitchen table, filled with fresh flowers. This one does not have to be pushed aside at meal time, as it does not hide the faces of those, who come together.

I'm not familiar with "frog jars" in New Zealand. The name intrigues me though! Can you please tell me more about them.....?

Hi Kiwi,
I do not know where the name is derived from. They are usually small. I have seen them in different colors and shapes. The one thing they have in common is the top.

Here is also a link to give you an idea what they look like.

Thanks for explaining. It seems that almost any small jar is called frog jar so long as it has a narrow neck! Very pretty too.
