"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away."

Need I say more

Years ago I was watching a movie. In this scene...a record is playing. The song is, The Very Thought Of You.

So it was...from the first moment I heard that voice... my love affair with her music began.

Disneyland Ticket Books

My first trip to Disneyland...1961; just a few years after it first opened. I was 4 and I went with my dad and grandmother. My mom stayed home as she was pregnant with my sister.

Of course I don't remember my first trip...but the memory is forever etched in picture slides. Growing up in So. California...a trip to Disneyland was not just for vacations and so 1961 was just the first year of many more to come.

My fondest memory is not the rides nor the food nor even Mickey Mouse...but the ticket books. Tickets with either A, B, C, D or E on it. Different tickets for different rides...E ticket being the best.

Marineland

A vintage long forgotten childhood memory.

A treasure of primary colors

Growing up my mother had a set of Pyrex mixing bowls just like these ones...minus the small blue one.

I do believe my fondness for mixing bowls was born from my mothers kitchen... some 45 years ago.

Vintage reproductions

Since I posted this yesterday, I have decided to purchase these. They are only 4 inches tall. Just the right size for my spearmint and chamomile tea bags.

Feedsack fabric

I do believe that I am aquiring a, all consuming passion for fabric, feedsack and all.

A lovely alternative

The only down side is that you cant stack them. So lucky for me that I have a huge stand up freezer, with plenty of room.

This vintage toaster...

is what I envisioned, with its shiny chrome and cloth cord; when I was in the market for a new toaster. For some reason, unbeknownst to me; I have a vivid, fond memory of, cloth cord.

I looked at many and then I saw this one. As close to retro perfection, as I was going to get; for the price I could afford. Sadly, no cloth cord.

Whispers of yesteryear

These are two books I own, that I cherish. One is about collectibles, yet that is not what draws me to it. They are a collection of nostalgia; of a time gone by. Books filled with a abundance of photos, with stories to match. A glimpse into a era, I missed; but that lives in my heart.

I am in memory heaven

Today's mail brought not only a catalogue from the Vermont Country Store; but a memory from yesteryear. Jello 1-2-3 has not been in the market for many moons, but the memory of it feels, like only yesterday.
